STUDY

The Creative Reinterpretation Project design project examines a cultural object from a specific historical period, that drives inspiration for a new design in a modern living space.

The study design was inspired from the Renaissance Period and cultural object, Cassone.

The Concept:
The Study was inspired from the Renaissance Period and Humanism Movement. Having hard wood floors, off-white walls, and historical art displays resemble the Cassone’s main surfaces and decorative panels. Accents of red and yellow were inspired from the chests inner fabric and human body portrait. As well as recognizing the precious and expensive textiles within by using classic moldings and elegant fixtures and furniture. Lastly, designing bookshelves helps reflect the Study’s main inspiration which resemble the embracement of education, art, and literature during the Renaissance.
